Five months later, w/ 80,000 samples, it was 2,100 bytes.
In Mar. 1998 , median transfer at LBNL was 10,900 bytes.
In Dec. 1998, it was 5,600 bytes (329,000 samples)
There is no such thing as a typical time period.
