A flexible user terminal (node) is needed as a base platform:

• Frequency: 4900 MHz, 700 MHz + satellite

• Radio part: 2 transmitters / 16 receivers; multi mode, multi band (software defined)

• Voice codec: ITU-T G.729A

• Packet size: 70 to 96 bytes including 6 voice frames (10 ms each) and addressing
