Conclusions (cont.)
We examined the performance of various queuing algorithms in alleviating the distributed denial of service attacks and in providing desired bandwidth to legitimate users.
Our simulation results indicated that implementing queuing algorithms in network routers may protect users in cases of distributed denial of service attacks.
Under persistent denial of service attacks, class based queuing algorithms can guarantee bandwidth for certain classes of input flows.
