Packet size: analysis
Packet size distribution is bimodal:
- many small packets for acknowledgements
- many large packets for bulk data file transfer type applications
- very few in between
Ten most common sizes: 1460, 40, 1500, 80, 88, 576, 48, 55, 250, 1462 bytes
The absence of the 552 bytes (default MSS 512) is an interesting phenomenon.
