Definitions: packet loss and loss episodes

• First loss episode (burst):begins with packet 2 and ends with packet 3length = two packets

• Second loss episode (burst): begins and ends with packet 5length = one packet

Example: Packets with sequence numbers

1, 4, and 6 are successfully received2, 3, and 5 are lost.
