Teaching with OPNET (4.0.A) at UCFV
In our undergraduate data communications course, we stress an understanding of the internal operations of LANs and WANs.
Course includes both theory of data communications and laboratory exercises using the manual Modeling and Simulating Communication Networks by Dr. I. Katzela.
Using OPNET, our students gained an understanding of the underlying principles and characteristics of various LAN and WAN components and operations, and were able to appreciate the design tradeoffs and characteristics of LAN and WAN network protocols.
