Weighted Fair Queuing history
Credit Based Fair Queuing (CBFQ):
- Introduced as a practical WFQ implementation in 1997 by B. Beusaou, K.T. Chan, and D.H.K. Tsang.
- No longer requires tracking of arrival times.
- Each queue is issued credits on a regular intervals.
- Requires calculation and sorting of a metric:
- The queue with the lowest metric value is serviced next.
- CBFQ is influenced by not only the availability of credits but also by the magnitude of the accumulated credits.
