  • X.25
  • Frame Relay
  • ATM

• Several protocols are suggested to build modern VPN over the Internet :

  • Point-to-Point Tunnelling Protocol (PPTP)
  • Layer-2 Tunnelling Protocol (L2TP)
  • IP Security protocol (IPSec)
  • BGP/MPLS
