Multiple forwarding tables
Each PE router maintains one or more per-site forwarding tables known as VRFs.
When receiving an outbound customer data packet from a directly attached CE router, the PE router performs a route lookup in the VRF that is associated with that site.
Support for multiple forwarding tables makes it easy for the PE router to provide the per-VPN segregation of routing information.
