About Me

  1. MMath in Computer Science, University of Waterloo,
  2. BMath in Combinatorics & Optimization and Pure Mathematics, University of Waterloo,

I'm a fourth-year PhD candidate studying Computing Science at Simon Fraser University, supervised by Dr. Parmit Chilana and Dr. Joanna McGrenere. My current research seeks to understand educators' practices and motivations as they integrate a growing variety of software tools into their teaching and learn to customize those tools to better suit their classroom needs. From these insights, I design novel systems that help educators discover, explore, and implement relevant software customizations to improve the utility and usability of their digital classroom ecosystems. I hold an NSERC Postgraduate Scholarship and recently completed an internship with Microsoft studying K-12 teachers' perspectives on personalizing their classroom software.

Some of my past research has also aimed to simplify the process of finding relevant tutorials and other help resources for feature-rich software, through the design of collaborative, personalized help recommendation systems.
