Users with Mac OS X 10.8 (aka Mountain Lion) must perform these steps first before continuing with the setup instructions below.

1. Download the software required from here.  These docs will assume it ends up in your Downloads folder.

2. Open your Downloads folder and click on DiningHallPrinter.dmg
3. You'll see the DMG mounted.  Double-click it to start the installation.

Don't pay too much attention to the version shown in the screenshots (0.0.3); this will change over time.

4. Click Continue.
5. Scroll through the README section and click Continue.
6. Read the License Information and if you agree, click Continue

(Hint: All legitimate SFU staff students, and faculty can continue.)

7. Click Agree.
8. Click Install.  Do NOT change the Install Location unless you are very sure you know what you're doing.

(Hint: It's a very small package .. just don't change the location)

9. You'll get the standard Apple administrator prompt.  Fill in the blanks appropriately and click Install Software.
10. You MAY see this prompt if you do not have Java installed.  The client software requires Java, so you must click Install.

If you do NOT see this prompt, go to step 14.

11. More standard Apple stuff.
12. It make take a minute or two, but Java will download and install.

Just watch patiently.

13. Once done, click OK.
14. And you're done!  Click Close.
15. The Papercut login window will appear.  Enter your SFU ID (obviously not Kipling) and password and click OK.

If you are the only user of this computer, you can select Remember my identity.

However, if others may use your computer, leave this unchecked.
16.  All going well, you'll see your balance.

However, you may not see this window.  This is not cause for alarm; you may not be in the system yet.  Just try again in a day or two; it sometimes takes a while for everything to filter through the system.

This completes the installation of the Papercut software.  However, the Papercut software needs to be running to print to the Dining Hall printer and it could be handy to have it start automatically each time you log in. The following instructions will show you how to do so.

These steps are optional!

You do not have to do the following, but you probably want to.

1. Navigate to the Apple menu and select System Preferences.
2. Select Users and Groups from the System area.
3. Locate your user account and select it.  (vmUser in this case).

If the Lock icon in the lower left is locked (as shown here) click it.

4. If the setting were locked, you'll be prompted.  Enter your administrator credentials and click Unlock.
5. Ensure that the Lock is now unlocked.
6. Ensure that your user account is still selected, then click the Login Items tab.

Then click the + sign to add a login item.

7. Navigate to the Applications folder and locate PCClient.

Click Add.

8. Ensure that PCClient is in your list and that it does not have a checkmark beside it.

Then click the Lock in the lower left to protect these settings.

9. The Lock is closed; you're done!

Finally, let's double-check that the printer was installed correctly.

1. Navigate to the Apple menu and select System Preferences.
2. Select Print and Scan from the Hardware area.
3. Here is your new Dining Hall Printer.
