#!/usr/local/bin/php 1. Download the Papercut Client software from here.  The following examples assume you've downloaded it to your desktop.  It doesn't actually matter where you download, just so long as you can find it again. 2. Extract the software in your usual manner.  The following couple of instructions will show a Windows XP installation; different versions of Windows may be slightly different.

First, RIGHT-click on the ZIP file, and select Extract All.

3. Click Next. 4. Make note of the destination, likely the same folder as the ZIP currently lives.

Click Next.

5. Watch it extract .. it shouldn't take long. 6. Ensure that Show extracted files is selected, and then click Finish. 7. You should see a new folder appearing in the location shown in step 4.  Double-click to open the folder. 8. Locate client-local-install.exe  (It may be named simply client-local-install).

Double-click it to start the installation process.

9.  If asked (you may not be), click Run. 10. Click Next. 11. Select  I accept the agreement and click Next. 12.  Don't change the installation path, just click Next. 13. Select Local Install(For all users) and click Next. 14. Click Install. 15.  Once installed (and it should be quick), ensure that Launch client and verify my identity (Recommended) is selected.

Then click Finish.

16.  The following window will appear.  Type in your SFU username and password.  Note that it is just your username; there is no @sfu.ca.
If you are the only user of this computer, you can select Remember my identity.  You'll find this more convenient.

But if other people might be using the computer, deselect this option.

Click OK. 17.  If all has gone well, you should a box similar to this showing your current balance.

Note that the balance may be zero.  You are therefore in the system, but have not been given any "money".  "Money" is added at midnight, so you should be able to print the next day.

Nothing at all may appear to happen after clicking OK.  However, hovering the mouse over the green "P" in the system area may show a message similar to that shown here.  This indicates that you are not yet in the system.

This is not necessarily cause for alarm; if you are in fact on the Meal Plan, you should be automatically added to the list at midnight and then be able to print the next day.

The next step is to install the printer drivers and connect to the printer.  Click here for instructions on doing so.
