#!/usr/local/bin/php Installing a Windows queue for a Windows7 computer that is NOT connected to the Campus Active Directory domain
| Using a Windows print queue on a computer that is not connected to the domain involves a few unusual steps. However, the extra effort is usually worth it because the correct print driver for the device is automatically downloaded and installed for you, whuch can be very handy. |
| 1. You'll need to know the OPS number of the printer you wish to use. That information is on a sticker (somewhere obvious) on the device itself. Make note of the number before continuing. | ![]() |
| 2. Right-click on an unused area of the taskbar. | ![]() |
| 3. Select Properties. | ![]() |
| 4. Click on the Start Menu tab. | ![]() |
| 5. About 3/4 of the way down, locate the Run command
setting.
Make sure it's checked as shown. Click OK. |

| 9. It will take a while, but be patient. Eventually you'll be
asked for some credentials.
Enter your ID preceded by ad.sfu.ca\ as shown here for that Kipling fellow. Enter your regular password, check the Remember box, and click OK. |

| 10. After a few seconds, and all going well, you'll see a new
window appearing showing an empty folder. This is good! Close the window (the red "X") and proceed
to step 11.
If you do not see an empty folder or you get an error message, you typed something wrong somewhere along the way. Retry from step 7. |
