| Dear All--Many of you might like to know that the Vice President Academic's proposal for the implementation of learning outcomes for all programs at SFU will come before senate for a vote this coming Monday. No notice was sent out to inform the SFU community, so I thought I would let those on this list, at least, know that a formal proposal is now coming forward. It can be found at this link: http://www.sfu.ca/senate/agenda.html It is Senate Paper 13-40. It should be noted that there has been significant opposition to this initiative, including a letter opposing the initiative sent to the president and the VPA. That letter has been signed by nearly 100 faculty members from multiple faculties and schools at the university. Numerous other individuals and groups have sent in letters of opposition to the initiative and at least 2 departments of which I am aware have passed motions opposing the initiative.
