Folks,

The worry. Rumour has it that overheads are becoming difficult to purchase and may gradually be phased out. I hope that rumour is not true.
I very much prefer the two-overhead-projector approach --- it gives a lot of flexibility to switch back and forth between prepared material and spontaneous material. When I was teaching at Surrey in Spring, I asked for two overheads in the classrooms I was using. I was told this was impossible because `we cannot purchase these any more.' A bald lie, as far as I can tell from some quick internet surfing and experience here on Burnaby Mtn. It seems that there has been a policy decision somewhere and the `we can't buy them' rationale is a convenient cover. I'd very much like to be proven wrong (in the sense that overheads are still available and will be provided in classrooms).
Technology is all well and good, but pens and overheads don't malfunction nearly as often as software.
