Fwd: TransLink survey: Have your say on transit in Burnaby and New Westminster

In case you think all these translink changes are improvements, please note that the service from Coquitlam could potentially get a lot worse.
They are proposing to axe the very busy 143 which is used by thousands of students, and switch to a two step route transferring at the new Burquitlam skytrain station.
If not done right this could add a great deal of extra time to students and faculty coming from points east.
I urge people to fill in the survey.
Cheers,
Simon

Transit Network Consultation

Starting on Tuesday, October 13, TransLink is inviting customers and neighbours across the region to have their say on potential changes to the transit network across Metro Vancouver. An online survey will be available until November 6.

We're considering more than 85 proposed changes and asking for feedback now, as we plan for the future.

Proposed transit network changes across the network aim to:

    * Deliver on our plans
    * Integrate bus service to better connect to the Evergreen Extension
    * Decrease travel time on busy routes
    * Extend service to areas with high commuter demand
    * Take advantage of road and infrastructure changes
    * Make our system more efficient

In Burnaby and New Westminster

We’ve identified a number of opportunities to improve transit in your community, especially around major hubs like SFU and Metrotown. These proposed changes include:

    * 49th Ave - Champlain Heights (26/49)
    * Metrotown–Edmonds–New Westminster (106)
    * Metrotown Station (49/116/129/130/144/430)
    * Simon Fraser University – Burnaby Mountain (135/143/144/145/N35)
    * Hastings B-Line (135)
    * New Westminster Community Shuttles (C3/C4/C8/C9)
    * Walnut Grove – Lougheed (501/509/555)
