Hi Everyone,
The following event may be of interest to you.
On Thursday, November 3, 2016, the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Association is hosting its 25th Anniversary Soiree at the Bill Reid Gallery in Vancouver, which will be attended by their staff, board, supporters, and members of BC's information and privacy community.
Over the past 25 years, FIPA has made major contribution to the Canadian information rights landscape. They have fought constitutional challenges all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada, released ground-breaking reports and studies such as the Connected Car Report, raised public awareness on a number of key issues related to FOI and Privacy, and helped thousands of individuals and organizations access public information and protect their privacy through their helpline and website.
BC FIPA's goal for the future is to better engage and educate the public about the important of freedom of information and protection of privacy. To assist these efforts, they are holding a fundraising gala. Tickets are $65 in advance or $85 at the door. For more information on BC FIPA and the event, please see https://fipa.bc.ca/
Full disclosure: I am on the Board of FIPA.
Best,
Carla
