Pension buyback detail - wet signature needed on RRSP/RPP transfer form

Hi All,

I've just learned that officially, BCCPP wants a wet signature on the RRSP/RPP transfer form.  The form can still be scanned and submitted through the online message center.   (FWIW, my digital signature is an image of a real wet signature.  I thought that on the document I submitted it looked wet-signed and scanned, but the BCCPP rep said it still looked 'electronic'.)

This conflicts with what I was told by BCCPP last month, and I had passed on to this list the erroneous information that BCCPP is OK with digitally signed forms.  Sorry to have misled you!

If you have already submitted a digitally signed form and want to be completely safe, you can print just that one page, wet-sign, scan and upload.  I typed in an explanation for the wet-signed duplicate page in the message center when I attached the file.

On a positive note, less than 1 month after Sun Life received my request, the check has been received by BCCPP and it in their system, so things are not moving as slow as they might, at least in July.

Best,

Dylan
