Hi all, Thank you for your engagement in the issues surrounding the REB. We ended up with 267 signers to the letter which is a huge testament to the importance of this issue (see attached)! President Johnson acknowledged the receiving the letter and I believe it carried a lot of weight in what happened at Senate. So, what happened at Senate? We had a passionate and fulsome discussion of the issues, and like any good legislative body, dodged the question by referring it back to committee. I say that tongue in cheek as I think this is a good thing. The issue has been sent back to SCAR (Senate Committee onAgenda and Rules) to determine a way forward and the VPRI has committed not to implement the procedural changes while SCAR does its work. The voting members of SCAR are: myself, Joy Johnson, Stephen Spector, Wade Parkhouse, Thecla Schiphorst, Bryan Daniel, Abhishek Parmar, and Priyanka Dhesa. I would encourage you to reach out to them and share your thoughts regarding the issue. I will make sure they all have seen the letter we crafted.
