FW: Inviting you to join: Nation-Wide Walkout on May 1: Support Our Science

Dear Colleagues:

As some of you have suggested in the latest discussion about graduate student funding, the issue is way deeper than anything that can be resolved at SFU’s level. Please see the message below about a May 1 walkout by grad students and PIs. See also today’s article in the Globe and Mail about how unsustainable the funding levels are to create and retain talent in Canada:

From the Globe and Mail: Lack of research funding pushes PhD students out of Canada, threatening a new brain drain - https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/article-lack-of-research-funding-pushes-phd-students-out-of-canada-threatening/?utm_source=Shared+Article+Sent+to+User&utm_medium=E-mail:+Newsletters+/+E-Blasts+/+etc.&utm_campaign=Shared+Web+Article+Links
