Curriculum Vitae

June Sturrock, who is an Emeritus Professor of Simon Fraser University’s English Department, continues to teach occasionally for the Graduate Liberal Studies Program.  Her first degrees are from Oxford, her doctorate from the University of British Columbia (Thesis title:  “Wordsworth’s Eye:  A Study of the Nature of Vision in Wordsworth’s Poetry in Relation to Contemporary Concepts of Vision”).  Her main academic interests are in British poetry of the Romantic period and nineteenth century women’s writing.  She is also interested in ethical criticism, and in the work of Iris Murdoch, A.S. Byatt, and Elizabeth Bowen.  She is the winner of an Excellence in Teaching Award.
June is married to the seventeenth century scholar , Alan Rudrum, and they have two daughters and three grandsons (her main non-academic interest).
