Create an accessible PDF file

Accessibility extends the availability of your documents to the broadest possible audience so that users who rely on screen readers, keyboard controls instead of mouse actions, and handheld devices can more easily read and navigate your documents.

In Acrobat Standard, you can quickly check the accessibility of PDF documents. Then, if needed, you can apply a tagging structuring that works behind the scenes to improve the accessibility of your documents.

To check accessibility in PDF documents, choose Advanced > Accessibility > Quick Check.

If the document doesn’t contain tags, add them: Choose Advanced > Accessibility > Add Tags To Document. The PDF document is now tagged.
