SFU Board chair named one of Business In Vancouver’s top Forty under 40

Angie Lamarsh, chair of SFU’s Board of Governors, has been named one of B.C.’s top business leaders in Business in Vancouver’s annual Forty under 40 Awards.

Lamarsh is head of sustainable finance, commercial banking at HSBC Bank Canada. She is responsible for leading the sustainable finance proposition in Canada and executing on HSBC’s global commitment to provide at least $750 billion USD in sustainable finance by 2030.

Under her leadership, HSBC has developed the largest sustainable finance suite in Canada and is focused on ensuring businesses of all sizes are able to access capital to transition to a low-carbon economy.

The annual Forty under 40 Award recognizes career achievements, success, and contributions of business leaders throughout B.C. Lamarsh, along with other winners, will be featured in BIV’s annual Forty under 40 Magazine and will be recognized at an event on Feb. 22, 2023.

An SFU alumnus, Lamarsh completed a bachelor of arts in international security and conflict and a master of arts in international development.

Outside of SFU, Lamarsh has served as a member of the Education and Finance Committees for Ocean Wise and in 2019 was selected as one of the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada by the Women’s Executive Network.
