Funding deadlines approaching and open positions: Weston Brain Institute



The Office of Research Services has received the following information which we are forwarding to our e-mail list members:

Dear researchers,

 

1. We currently have several open programs with deadlines approaching soon:

 

Rapid Response: Canada 2018 (Parkinson’s & Related Diseases)

LOI deadline: December 4, 2017 at 2pm EST

Seed funding (up to $200,000 per project for up to 18 months) to provide support for high-risk, high-reward projects that will accelerate the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases of aging.

Transformational Research: Canada 2018

LOI deadline: December 7, 2017 at 2pm EST (may be extended; please contact us if this would be helpful)

Larger, longer grants (up to $1.5m for up to 3 years) for transformational work based on excellent preliminary data, including clinical studies not covered under the Early Phase Clinical Trials program below.

Early Phase Clinical Trials: Canada *NEW*

LOIs accepted on a rolling basis

Funding (up to $1.5m for up to 4 years) for clinical trials and/or clinical trial sub-studies with excellent preliminary data. Translational research other than clinical trials and/or clinical trial sub-studies should be submitted to the Transformational Research program or the Rapid Response program.

Postdoctoral Scholars at Oxford

Applications accepted on a rolling basis

Provides funding (maximum £57,000 per year in salary + benefits, for 2 years) to exceptional Canadian postdoctoral researchers for international training at the University of Oxford and affiliation with Merton College. Projects must be translational research to accelerate the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases of aging.

1.       Research Programs Specialist – this can be done as a ~1 year position if you had a post-doc or similar who wished to rotate out of lab work temporarily.
