This three-day public symposium brought together prominent speakers, including senior officials from the World Bank and CIDA, scholars from Africa, Canada and the USA, graduate students, representatives from the corporate and civil sectors, and the local community.
The overall goal is to engage development stakeholders and all interested members of the community in a process that will help us rethink aid effectiveness (in what has been characterized as a 'post-aid world') and the role of various forms of development partnerships within the overall context of meeting the challenges Africa faces in achieving the UN's Millenium Development Goals.
