Jennifer Allen Simons, award-winning educator in peace, disarmament, international law and human security, is Founder and President of The Simons Foundation, a Senior Fellow and Dialogue Associate at the SFU Centre for Dialogue, and an Adjunct Professor at the SFU School for International Studies.

Mark L. Winston has had a distinguished career researching, teaching, writing and commenting on bees and agriculture, environmental issues, and science policy. More recently, he has utilized dialogue in classrooms, corporations, non-profit organizations, government, and community settings to develop leadership and communication skills, conduct strategic planning, inspire organizational change, and thoughtfully engage public audiences with controversial issues.

Dr. Robert A. Daum (PhD, UC Berkeley) is a Fellow in Diversity & Innovation at Simon Fraser University’s Centre for Dialogue. He is an active research collaborator and practitioner in community and university-based initiatives focused on intercultural and interdisciplinary collaboration and community engagement.

Deborah Harford

Climate Solutions

Deborah Harford is the Executive Director of ACT (the Adaptation to Climate Change Team), based at the School of Public Policy at SFU. A member of the first cohort of students in SFU’s innovative Undergraduate Semester in Dialogue, she is a lifelong environmentalist and passionate communicator. Deborah was appointed as a Climate Solutions Fellow in June 2015.

Kim Hudson is the Director the Two Ways of Knowing (2WK) Project at SFU's Centre for Dialogue. Kim's work explores how traditional and western ways of knowing can be drawn upon to deepen mutual understanding, develop sustainable relationships and support joint economic, cultural and environmental partnerships.

Paul Meyer

In February 2011 Paul Meyer was appointed Fellow in International Security at the Centre for Dialogue and concurrently Adjunct Professor, School for International Studies at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver. He is also a Senior Fellow at The Simons Foundation. His research interests include nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament, outer space security, conflict prevention and cyber security.

Michael joined Renewable Cities on January 1, 2015 after a thirty-three year career as a diplomat and senior executive in the Canadian foreign service. Immediately prior to coming to Vancouver, Michael was Canada’s High Commissioner to Australia from September 2010 until December 2014.

Merran Smith

Merran Smith leads a team that is working to transform Canada’s energy systems to reduce fossil fuel dependence and the risks of climate disruption. A former environmental and human-rights activist, she now regularly meets with and convenes private, public, and civil society leaders from Bay Street, to the nation’s provincial capitals, to the House of Commons.
