Working Compassion: Educating People to be Compassionate

This one-day academic symposium brought together 100 scholars, researchers and practitioners working in the domain of compassion and related moral consciousness. Inspired by the work of Karen Armstrong, the symposium helped to break new ground in the intersection of compassion research, practice and education.
Activities included a keynote speech by Karen Armstrong, responses from a Witnessing Panel (Susan Montabello, Bruce Sanguine, Vicki Kelly and Daniel Vokey) and thematic breakout discussions.
