Introduction
Every society requires a means of relaxation, a way to de-stress the population by getting them away from the hussle and bussle of corporate life. Camping is a common means for residents of cities to get back to nature and a simplier way of life. Therefore this study attempts to assist the State of Oregon in locating a new ideal campgroup location.
This study was constructed to analyize appropriate locations in Oregon, U.S.A. to build a new Backpacker's Paradise Campground based on important factors and constraints chosen based on 3 points of view; the Experience Camper, the Environmentalist and the Business Owner. Each of these points of view require emphasis on different factors, similarly they would have different opinions on the best place to locate a new campground.
This project will affect all those party's involved which are the State of Oregon, Campers, Environmentalists and Business Owners. Given that many campgrounds are plagued by chronic people congestion, it is my hope that this analysis will be taken into consideration in determining the best possible location for additional grounds. Another hope is that the policy recommendations accompanied with this GIS will influence future decisions.
