Metro Vancouver Fire Hazard Profile

Fire Hall Address Information

The list of municipalities in Metro Vancouver was obtained from Metro Vancouver's website. This list was then used to find information about the fire departments in each municipality, and the addresses of the fire halls. In generall, this information was easy to locate, with a few exceptions.

Anmore and Belcarra

These two small municipalities are served by a volunteer fire department, the Sasamat Volunteer Fire Department. The village websites do not offer information about the fire halls operated by this group. The existence of the halls was discovered through this announcement, and the addresses were later found using the YellowPages website.

Surrey

Information about Surrey's fire halls was somewhat problematic. The city's website does not list any information about the fire halls, but the information was found eventually by coming across the fire department's site. However, some of the addresses could not be geocoded, listing addresses that could not be found on any mapping website. Slightly different addresses were found for these discrepancies on a personal website detailing the history of Surrey's fire service, and were used successfully to geocode the problem fire halls.
