Study Areas

The study areas of this research focus directly on the urban spaces that are located in North Vancouver, Steveston and East Vancouver

These study areas were ultimately chosen due to their similarities in order to achieve a non-bias outcome

North Vancouver can be defined by a mountainous background, relatively quiet neighborhoods, various suburban residential areas which are homes to the families of middle and upper class economic status and the people enjoy highly active outdoor activities.

Steveston is a town located in the city of Richmond, it contains a large waterfront, has various walking and biking trails and is known for its fishing wharf. The grand woodlands area found in East Vancouver, has the Burrard Inlet to its North and the Fraser River to the south. It is an ethnically diverse neighborhood with varying family incomes and land use.
