Data Collection
I had originally hoped to obtain the data I needed from either BC Transit or BCAA. However, BC Transit was unwilling to give me the information, and BCAA was initially on strike when I went to them. When I later went to BCAA, I was unable to even find a GIS department. All I got were blank stares from the receptionist. Any online sources I found (such as Traffic Volumes) required me to pay money for the information.
In the end, I ended up using the Street Network File (SNF) from the library. I also spent a considerable amount of time driving around, making note of speed limits, traffic lights, and stop signs (this turned out to be a lot of wasted time).
