"Since I first met Dr. Yifan Shi, he has revealed himself to be curious, critical, and committed to openness and transparency. Yifan is a skilled researcher and an extraordinarily productive writer. He is an up-and-coming scholar in the history of China sincce 1949 whose insights about youth subcultures and leisure shed light on the bigger question of how the Communist Party's management of daily life has contributed to its extraordinary staying power."
DR. JEREMY BROWN
