Grignon Rex Grignon has been animating on the computer since 1985 and worked on the first two computer generated feature films ever made, TOY STORY and ANTZ. Grignon co-founded PDI's Character Animation Group in 1990, where he worked on the Emmy award-winning "The Last Halloween," "Muppet Vision 3-D," and numerous commercial spots featuring the Pillsbury Doughboy. He left PDI briefly to join Pixar's production of TOY STORY before rejoining PDI to co-supervise the character animation on ANTZ and SHREK. Grignon is currently serving as Supervising Animator on PDI/Dreamworks' next film, MADAGASCAR, which is now in pre-production. After
graduating from Sheridan College in 1984, Grignon was
awarded a Presidential Scholarship to work and study at the New
York Institute of Technology's Computer Graphics Laboratory,
renowned for its pioneering work in CGI. He has also taught character
animation classes at The University of Washington, the Academy of the
Arts College in San Francisco and has spoken at animation schools, conferences
and festivals around the world.
