HOW TO EMBRACE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND OTHER TECHNOLOGY ON OWN TERMS

REMOVING BARRIERS: OPEN EDUCATION AT SFU

Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching, learning and research resources created with the intention of being freely available to users anywhere.

Meet Rina Garcia Chua, Linda Morra and Don Shipton, who have taken their own approach to crafting and using OER at the university.

SFU will receive $513,000 from federal and provincial governments. This funding will increase access to a network of professional development experts by providing workshops and resources for teachers in both French minority language and French second language contexts.

SFU has also implemented a graduate program in educational leadership and is co-ordinating a provincial network of school administrations, with the goal of retaining French-language teachers.

RESOURCES + OPERATIONAL UPDATES

Throughout 2023, SFU will be in active negotiation with each of the university’s employee groups. This is an important time as the university, employee groups and negotiators work together to address monetary proposals in alignment with the Public Sector Mandate and non-monetary requests for each employee group. Read the latest update to learn about the bargaining status of your employee group.

At SFU, we believe that every member of our community deserves to be treated with respect and dignity.
