Basia’s honors thesis examined employment equity

Hannah Cavendish-Palmer Hometown: Olympia, WA (USA) Previous Degree: B.A. in International Development, Western Washington University and the University of Washington. Work Experience: An avid traveler, having lived and worked in many countries around the world including Venezuela, South Africa, Germany, and Thailand. Her work and volunteer experience is varied and includes working for a Congressman in Washington DC, teaching English, serving on the University of Washington Alumni Association board of trustees, and volunteering at a food bank farm. Hannah discovered her passion for food and farming policy issues during her last year at the University of Washington and has spent the last three years working as a program assistant at Washington State University King County Extension. This job entailed working with farmers, consumers, and county officials to increase support for locally grown products. Margo has gained most of her experience through the

program in Victoria. Margo gained considerable “front
