Nick Larsen, Ph.D.

Nick Larsen is the Criminal Justice Coordinator in the Department of Sociology at Chapman University in Orange County, California. His research interests encompass several areas in Law and Society, including prostitution control policies, comparative criminal justice and Native American law/Aboriginal justice. He has published numerous articles on prostitution control in refereed journals. In addition, he has edited a reader, The Canadian Criminal Justice System: An Issues Approach to the Administration of Justice in Canada (Canadian Scholars Press, 1995). Brian Burtch, Ph.D.

Brian Burtch is Professor and Undergraduate Director in the School of Criminology, and Associate Member in Women's Studies at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia. He has written two single-authored books, The Sociology of Law: Critical Approaches to Social Control (Harcourt Brace 1992), and Trials of Labour: The Re-emergence of Midwifery (McGill-Queen's University Press 1994). Brian has also co-authored (with Kerri Reid and Paul Woodward) a report on first-generation immigrants in Greater Vancouver, and published several articles and book chapters.
