The Research Data Centre at the Simon Fraser University is part of the British Columbia Inter-university Research Data Centre, supported by our partner universities, SSHRC/CIHR, and Statistics Canada to facilitate access to data for crucial social research while protecting the confidentiality and security of Canadians’ information. RDCs located throughout the country mean researchers are not obliged to travel to Ottawa to access Statistics Canada data. Find out all about us here or find out how to access our data and start your research project here.
The RDC is available to faculty and graduate students from SFU, UBC, UNBC, and UVic, who have an approved project. The RDC grants researchers direct access to the confidential microdata from Statistics Canada’s longitudinal surveys and many other household surveys. Since researchers are required to access and analyze the data within the centre, we offer a comprehensive and secure research environment. The UBC RDC has an extensive array of advanced statistical software programs.
