Details

LENGTH=<$> length is one of the attributes that may be specified in the attribute-list. The LENGTH= attribute specifies the length of variables in the variable-list. Under OS/390, numeric variables can range from 2 to 8 bytes in length and character variables can range from 1 to 32,767 bytes in length.
