SORTLIST | NOSORTLIST

SORTLIST: tells SAS to automatically pass the LIST parameter to the host sort utility when the SORT procedure is invoked. The host sort utility uses the LIST parameter to determine whether or not to list control statements.
NOSORTLIST: tells SAS not to pass the LIST parameter to the host sort utility.

Details

The SORTLIST option controls whether the LIST parameter is passed to the host sort utility.

Note: If the default for your sort utility is to print messages, then NOSORTLIST has no effect. [cautionend]
