REEL 28 COMMENTARY

2. Good take. Powerful crashing waves create a very clear rhythm. When water recedes rocks rattle down with it. See also data sheet for further information about Oven's Park.

3. Generally quiet ambience. Just before siren goes off, ambulance siren in distance.

4. Recordists entering shop, short conversation with blacksmith. Closing of outside door (2'00") blocks out most traffic sound. Blacksmith making an anchor. Starts machine (2'05"), hammering (2'45") machine off (4'10"), hammering in quiet ambience (4'30"-5'10"), etc.

5. Quiet ambience with kids in background. Bells start (1'00"), playing five different tunes. Between tunes and towards end wind rustling leaves in foreground.

6. Carillon recorded from inside. Mechanism of bells produces all sorts of bangs and thuds on wood inside. For more detail see data sheet.
