REEL 52 COMMENTARY

1. Children playing in background before bells start ringing (0'50"). Even though they are more at a distance they cover up any other sound. The wind sends the sound of the bells up in interestingly modulated ways. Stop ringing (3'12") with one single bell left to fade. After bells stopped, no children anymore, just a very quiet wind ambience.

2. Talk is outside by car, they then (1'00") walk inside, introducing each other. Racine talks about history of Percé and bells. He has an incredibly interesting voice -- it's infectious, it's accent.

3. Talks more about the history and stories of the bells.

4. Talk about the birds and gulls in Percé.

5. Wind in field produces a high frequency rustle in the foreground. Wind in nearby trees produces a lower frequency rumble in back ground. Jet overhead, very distant (1'00"-2'00"). It's very stormy. Good take. Airplane overhead (5'10"-7'15").
