REEL 9 COMMENTARY

1,2. Car is hardly audible in these takes.

3. This is Peter Huse's grandfather, he has a great voice. Introductory talk while walking to his room, then (2'10") interview begins. Topics during interview are: sound of farm machinery, binders; Model T Ford (5'30"); old mills (end of take).

4. Nicest sound: band playing on water; traffic and streetcars with footbell; old thrashing machine, horse wagons (12'05"); train (18'35"). In general the interview contains very little information on early sounds.
