Grades
Interim grades via WebCT: WebCT can be used to display student grades as the semester progresses. Students can see their grades simply by entering their computing accounts and passwords at the WebCT portal page.
Interim grades via MySFU: The mySFU portal can be used to send students their grades as the semester progresses. Students can see the grades you've posted in mySFU simply by entering their computing accounts and passwords. Contact mypage@sfu.ca to set up the ability to post grades in mySFU.
Final grades: The GoSFU portal can be used to send students their final grades.

Teaching and learning with technology
Announcements via MySFU: The mySFU portal can be used by any department or group to make announcements. Usually a point person (such as the departmental assistant or designate) is given posting rights and faculty and staff members can send their announcement to that person for posting. Contact the ACS Webmaster if your department is interested in having this capability set up.
eLive: SFU's online audioconferencing system.
Course email lists: Course lists are a type of maillist that automatically include the e-mail addresses of students with active SFU computing accounts who are registered in that course for the current semester.
Publishing web sites/pages: You can publish your course materials as a stand-alone web site.
Web-based discussion groups: You can use Caucus to create a web conference for your course. Students and instructors can create and respond to various discussion items. Access can be limited to the students taking the course.

Surveys
WebCT has a built-in survey tool. As well, ACS has developed an online survey tool.

Teaching portfolios
- This site contains excellent resources for faculty members and graduate students to assist them in completing teaching portfolios/dossiers.

WebCT resources
WebCT is a learning management system (LMS). It includes components that allow you to present a wide variety of instructional materials (text, audio, video, etc) within a secure environment, interact with students, facilitate student collaboratioin and interaction and manage and release grades. The LIDC offers workshops on WebCT each semester.

SFU will be upgrading to WebCT CE 6 for the Summer semester. News and resources are available to help you with this transition.
