Lesson 5 : Transforming
Transforming means making an image or its' parts , bigger or smaller or rotating and skewing . Some times ,
we need to change the size of a part or element
of our image . To do this, we first need to select
these parts or chose the layer where the whole element
is located.
If the element you want to transform is not separate
from its surroundings you first need to select it
using the lasso tool as we described. But, if the
element is already traced and cut out you only need
to chose the layer where it lies.
Scaling :
After you have selected or chosen the layer, go
to the menu>edit>transform>scale and click. You
will see that a box will appear around the part
you have chosen or around your selection. There
are four tiny squares at the corners of this box.
If you click on these squares and drag them , your
element will grow bigger or smaller. In order to
keep the same proportions, hold the shift key on
your keyboard while you are dragging.
Rotating :
To rotate your selection hold your mouse near any
of the tiny squares, you will see that a curved
arrow appears that prompts you can rotate your selection.
Hold down your mouse key and drag it to left or
right to rotate your selection
the selection box around the portrait
the portrait after transformation
Once you are done with your transformations ,double
click in the area inside the box and your changes
will finalize. After you are finished with each
transformation, go to menu>file>save. and
Save your work.
