XRGeo

Drill cores are fundamental datasets for mining projects. However, millions of dollars are lost every year due to current bad practices. Core data acquisition and analytics are currently not optimized as they are handled manually and lack mediums to remotely QA/QC or store raw data. This can lead to biased information and systematic errors which cause future re-drilling and/or physical re-evaluation of altered drill cores. With drilling being an expensive procedure that ranges from $210 to $1200 per meter and mines requiring kilometers worth of core, limiting the amount of drilling can help reduce current mining expenses.

XRGeo minimizes the amount of drilling required by optimizing data acquisition per core sample. By providing a complete 3D rendering of the drill core, we provide 3D solutions for 3D problems. By capturing pristine drill cores before they undergo destructive tests, we can computationally quantify geological and geotechnical parameters. With a procedurally generated reliable database, future reference to previous datasets and extrapolation between multiple points can be composed.
