SFU-JLU Joint Centre for Bioarchaeological Research (JCBR)
BSc (Lanzhou University; MSc (Chinese Academy of Sciences); PhD (McMaster University)
The SFU-JLU Joint Centre for Bioarchaeological Research (JCBR) provides a platform for faculty, scholars and students from both Simon Fraser University (SFU) and Jilin University (JLU) of China to join forces to advance bioarchaeological studies in Canada and in China.
The SFU-JLU Joint Centre for Bioarchaeological Research at SFU (JCBR) functions in coordination with its partner, the JLU-SFU Joint Laboratory for Bioarchaeological Research (JLBR) at JLU.
The research centre breeds an opportunity to deepen the long-term partnership between Simon Fraser University and the university overseas, to create a place for both Canadian and Chinese students to gain international research experience in both countries, and to enhance human osteoarchaeological research in Chinese archaeology as a whole through well-designed research projects and hands-on training. This is consistent with the new SFU international engagement strategy for developing deep and mutually beneficial relationships.
