Policy R20.0,/ http://www.sfu.ca/policies/research/r20-01.htm makes the relevant Chair, Director or Dean responsible for Course Applications. However, an instructor for a course may request approval of the Course, subject to approval of the Chair, Director or Dean.
After you are registered you may log in using your SFU email address, with the password you selected for registration.
The Following must be included in the application before it can be submitted:
(a) A description of the types of human research projects that may be part of the Course,
(b) Examples of the consent form(s) that mat be used for the types of projects described in (a)
Other supporting documents may also be uploaded in pfd format.
Help files and a check list are available in the application software.
If the Course protocol changes with respect to (a) or (b) an amendment must be requested of the Office of Research Ethics.
Deadlines for Submission of Course Applications
Course that begin in:
Summer Semester March 1
Fall Semester July 1
Spring Semester November 1
Important Note: You may save your applications without submitting them. This will allow you to develop applications over a period of time if needed. After the application has been submitted it cannot be changed until it has been reviewed by the Office of Research Ethics.
