Re: Campus/Lab Spill Response?
At Penn State University there is a HAZMAT response team designated to handle
incidents on campus and in the surrounding region. It falls under the Department
of University Safety. The web site for Environmental Health and Safety is
http://www.ehs.psu.edu/. This link seems to be dead at the moment, but maybe it
will wake up.
For your reference, four of the primary University policies regarding the general
handling of hazardous materials:
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY
http://guru.sp.psu.edu/policies/SY01.html
HAZARDOUS WASTE DISPOSAL
http://guru.sp.psu.edu/policies/SY20.html
GUIDELINE FOR THE DRAIN DISPOSAL OF CHEMICALS
http://guru.sp.psu.edu/policies/SYG01.html
USE OF BIOHAZARDOUS MATERIALS IN RESEARCH AND INSTRUCTION
http://guru.sp.psu.edu/policies/SY24.html
Following is the location of the complete list of fire and safety policies and
guidelines:
