General Summary:         

Serve as the primary support staff member responsible for system administration of the University's externally hosted e-mail, calendar and collaboration infrastructure that provides mailboxes and collaboration services to the full University community.
 
Qualifications:

Knowledge of contemporary messaging and collaboration system administration principles and best practices typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is necessary.

A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience with client-server environments with a focus on messaging, e-mail and collaboration solutions is required (Zimbra experience is preferred).

A minimum of one year of experience supporting an enterprise class e-mail security product is required (anti-spam and anti-virus appliance solutions). Experience with IronPort products is preferred.

Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting enterprise messaging and collaboration solutions are required.

Relevant professional certifications and messaging related certifications are preferred.

Expert knowledge of and experience supporting Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird and other similar messaging and collaboration clients and experience supporting mobile messaging and collaboration applications and solutions for hand-held devices is required.

Knowledge of and experience managing mail routing on an enterprise level is required. Strong knowledge of how messaging and collaboration solutions are used within large organizations, preferably within a learning environment such as a University is required.

Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience with the following are required: Managing and supporting mission critical systems; writing and utilizing scripting (i.e. Perl, PHP, shell scripts) or other programming languages to perform and automate routine tasks; demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision both independently and as a member of a team.
