- 2021 Buchalter Cosmology Prize, shared with Karsten Jedamzik, for work on primordial magnetic fields and the Hubble tension.
Levon Pogosian received his PhD from Case Western Reserve University and was a research fellow at Imperial College London, Tufts University, and Syracuse University before joining SFU.
As a theoretical cosmologist he uses astronomical data to test and discover the laws of Nature. He is particularly interested in understanding the nature of dark energy and dark matter that make up most of the Universe, as well as searching for the relics of the Big Bang, such as as primordial magnetic fields.
